David Schutzbank is a results-driven professional with deep experience helping clients improve transportation and logistics efficiencies, strategy and implementation. Mr. Schutzbank’s industry background, combined with professional services tenure, enables him to apply supply chain turnaround, transformation, cost reduction and due diligence expertise in a way that supports clients and businesses during their most challenging times.
Throughout Mr. Schutzbank’s career, he has supported clients across industries including consumer retail, fashion, manufacturing, chemical, technology, food services and logistics. He develops and delivers creative, efficient and well-engineered solutions to solve complex problems across diverse corporate settings.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Schutzbank held multiple roles at a global third-party logistics company, most recently serving as the regional logistics solution design manager for North and South America.
Relevant Experience:
- Served as a trusted advisor to private equity clients, having conducted numerous operational due diligence engagements in supply chain, four-walls logistics, third-party logistics provider operational assessments and the creation of logistics cost-reduction roadmaps
- Served as interim global head of logistics for a $600 million chemical company during a carve-out; established the new company organization and led third-party logistics provider contract management, strategy creation and logistics execution
- Led a $60 million North America supply chain management optimization and cost-reduction initiative for a $12 billion white goods manufacturer; optimizations included transportation sourcing, cost-to-serve analytics, detention and demurrage reductions, and network reverse logistics assessment
- Conducted multiple engagements from assessment through implementation; focused on complexity reduction, process excellence and productivity improvements across four-walls logistics and broader supply chain operations
- Identified duplicative outbound dock steps for a $600 million consumer pet company; re-engineered process steps and quantified potential cost savings of 35% to 50% on outbound third-party logistics provider activities, equating to an annual impact of approximately $500,000 to $750,000
