Kaj B. Möller

Kaj Möller is a Managing Director in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and leads the Construction, Projects & Assets practice in Sweden. Kaj has 25 years of experience from international engineering and construction projects, where he has served with dispute-resolving services in multiple countries, under multiple contract forms and multiple project applications.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Kaj was the head of export for an industry-leading architecture and engineering consulting group in Europe. As such, Kaj has unique experience in contracts management, claims and disputes management in construction and engineering services contracts, especially those based on the globally well-recognized contract forms issued by the International Federation of Consulting Engineers (“FIDIC”), under which Kaj has negotiated several dispute settlements worldwide.

In addition, Kaj has also served as an advisor in several complicated corporate compliance investigations to identify possible misconduct and negotiate with investigating authorities for any sanctions outcomes.

Kaj earned his M.Sc. in civil engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, as well as an E.M.B.A. from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Relevant Experience:

• Claims and dispute advisor serving the contractor for a transmission line project in front of a dispute adjudication board under a FIDIC Yellow book works contract; advisor during the following preparations for arbitrator proceedings
• Claims and dispute advisor serving an employer in the water treatment sector avoiding activating a dispute adjudication board
• Claims and dispute advisor for multiple large engineering consultants for contracts at multiple locations worldwide, and based on various contracts forms, e.g. FIDIC, World Bank, NEC, and various national standard forms in civil law jurisdictions
• Head of negotiating delegation, contracts representative, claims and dispute advisor serving the employer for engineering assignment including study, procurement, design and construction supervision assignment of unlined underground cavern storage of petrochemical product

Awards & Recognitions:

• The International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) has recognized Kaj Moller with a Statement of Outstanding Recognition for his efforts in serving on the FIDIC Executive Committee, with special appointment as the liaison for the FIDIC Contracts Committee, during the years 2014 – 2018.
• The International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) has recognized Kaj Moller with a Statement of Recognition for his efforts in serving on the FIDIC Contracts Committee during the years 2018 – 2020.
