Kendall Pelander has more than 15 years of experience in digital enablement, innovation and market and growth strategy within the healthcare industry. Ms. Pelander brings a blend of strategy and digital expertise to assist clients with improving bottom line results and user experiences, from strategic planning through value creation. This is done with a particular focus on tangible solutions and approaches (e.g., financial model, roadmap and operating model). Her specific areas of focus include technology optimization, analytic enablement, growth strategy and go-to-market definition.
Ms. Pelander has broad experience across the healthcare provider, payer and PE-backed health organization space. Her experience has spanned the full health continuum, with focuses on behavioral health, pediatric care and ambulatory care. She has extensive capabilities in leading clients through experience-based and digitally enabled transformations, both with a near-term and long-term focus.
Ms. Pelander’s expertise and prior work includes behavioral health optimization, commercial due diligence, commercialization, AI and automation transformation and electronic medical record (“EMR”) optimization.
Ms. Pelander earned her B.B.A. in Strategic consulting and Marketing from Emory University.
Relevant Experience:
- Led an effort to redesign the behavioral health experience and services for the largest U.S. integrated provider and payer as the result of a state-mandated fine; performed a deep summary of more than 14,000 current patient experiences through interviews and a survey, and established a two-year solution roadmap approved by the state
- Oversaw a patient acquisition optimization strategy, including a marketing, business development and call center cost reduction of 30%, the launch of a self-service digital form, the optimization of patient intake from more than 400 questions to fewer than 100 questions, the definition of data analytics for acquisition, intake and conversion and the streamlining of behavioral health (“BH”) technology
- Led a care model transformation effort for a community hospital focused on redefining how care is delivered virtually and in the home; resulted in a connected care model driven by a centralized command center and the launch of a joint venture virtual hospital across multiple states
- Led a contact center transformation for a Fortune 50 payer and provider resulting in vendor selection and a three-year timeline to complete the transformation; established an organization-wide contact platform implementation strategy for all 14 business units
