Lukas Kay

Lukas Kay is a Managing Director in the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting, based in Chicago. Mr. Kay specializes in Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) & sustainability advisory, investor relations and financial communications.

A senior member of FTI Consulting’s ESG & Sustainability Advisory practice, Mr. Kay has led the design and implementation of ESG and investor relations programs for clients across sectors including healthcare, industrials, retail and consumer, energy, technology, and financial services. He advises public and private companies on navigating the evolving global sustainability landscape, with a focus on ESG strategy, reporting, regulatory compliance, cross-functional operational performance, and maximizing enterprise value within capital markets.

Mr. Kay has extensive experience helping companies comply with global non-financial and ESG regulations including the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (“CSRD”) and Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (“CSDDD”), U.S. state climate disclosure requirements and International Sustainability Standards Board (“ISSB”), among others. He works closely with executive teams to develop practical, investor-aligned ESG programs, and strengthen governance. Mr. Kay has improved the ESG ratings of numerous clients and assisted companies in attracting ESG-focused and European institutional capital.

Early in his career, Mr. Kay specialized in investor relations, counseling clients on capital markets events and issues including earnings support, investor days, mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”), shareholder activism defense, initial public offerings (“IPOs”) and corporate reputation management.
