Heather DiFiore specializes in corporate accounting and financial reporting improvement. Ms. DiFiore has more than 15 years of experience leading engagements and advising corporate clients. Her professional services experience includes controllership improvement, project management, audit support services, and technical accounting and financial reporting advisory, as well as accounting policy and procedure development, interim controllership services and forensic accounting in connection with transactions and litigation.
Ms. DiFiore has industry expertise in a variety of areas, including vehicle rental, telecommunications, healthcare, gaming, pharmaceuticals, construction, textiles and plastics, medical equipment and consumer products. She has extensive experience providing accounting improvement, controllership, financial reporting and audit support services to chief financial officers, chief accounting officers and corporate controllers.
Ms. DiFiore leads accounting and reporting improvement engagements and has assisted the accounting organizations of Fortune 500 and privately held companies with controllership improvement, financial reporting, technical accounting, audit support and project management.
Ms. DiFiore has served as financial advisor to numerous companies experiencing financial and operational change. In these roles, she has supported improvement programs to enhance financial reporting, monthly close processes and related business processes. Further, she has aided clients by leading internal audit activities, process reviews and mappings, account reviews and transactional tracing, and the development of remediation plans for control weaknesses. She also has financial statement preparation and restatement support experience and has led engagements to review prior years for errors, develop and implement accounting policies and procedures consistent with generally accepted account principles (“GAAP”), and support the audit of revised and restated financials by Big Four accounting firms.
Relevant Experience:
- Served as interim chief financial officer and controller of a $275 million PE-owned med spa
- Led finance integration workstreams for the largest media and advertising public company merger in history; included record-to-report processes, agency finance and finance systems user adoption
- Led finance integration workstreams for eight acquisitions in a physician practice management services organization (“MSO”) strategy; included cash-to-accrual, close process implementation and optimization, policy and procedures, and purchase accounting
- Led multiple audit support engagements for first-time audits and restatement-related audits
- Provided technical accounting and financial reporting advisory to PE owners, company boards and CFOs during times of financial reporting requirement changes
