About Michael
Michael Eisenband is the Global Chairman of FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance segment and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee. He leads the firm’s global Corporate Finance business, bringing together FTI Consulting’s transformation, transaction and turnaround capabilities to help clients navigate their most complex and consequential challenges and opportunities, often at critical moments in their organizations’ lifecycles. In his role as Global Chairman, Mr. Eisenband is responsible for driving the strategic growth and global integration of FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance platform. Working closely with leadership teams around the world, he champions a collaborative, client-centric approach that mobilizes the firm’s real-world experts to deliver the financial outcomes that matter most. Under his leadership, the firm has expanded its global reach, deepened client relationships and strengthened Corporate Finance as a trusted advisor to organizations facing high-stakes decisions.
With more than 30 years of experience, Mr. Eisenband is widely recognized as a leader in complex advisory situations, particularly in environments requiring clarity, alignment among stakeholders and action under pressure. He has advised companies, creditors, boards and investors on some of the most significant value-critical situations in modern history, while also helping organizations reposition, transact and transform for long-term success. Mr. Eisenband brings a deeply collaborative, outcome-oriented leadership style to his work across industries, including retail and consumer products, industrials and automotive, energy and utilities, airlines, financial services and real estate. His experience spans the full continuum of corporate finance challenges, from crisis and restructuring to growth, value creation and strategic transactions.
Mr. Eisenband’s notable engagements include Arcapita; Caesars Entertainment; Energy Future Holdings; General Motors; Lehman Brothers; PG&E Corporation; Sears Holdings; Toys “R” Us; and Washington Mutual; among many others.
Prior to his appointment as Global Chairman, Mr. Eisenband served as Global Segment Leader of Corporate Finance as well as New York Metro Region Leader and Leader of the Creditor Advisory practice within FTI Consulting’s Turnaround & Restructuring group. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director and National Director of Creditor Rights at Ernst & Young Corporate Finance.
Mr. Eisenband holds a B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Buffalo and is a Certified Public Accountant. He previously held NASD Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses and was inducted into the American College of Bankruptcy’s 32nd Class of Fellows. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Governing Board of the Commercial Finance Association and the Turnaround Management Association’s New York Chapter.
