Hrvoje Muhek

Hrvoje Muhek advises management teams and other stakeholders on complex restructurings of distressed companies in Canada and the United States. Mr. Muhek’s experience spans both formal insolvency proceedings and out-of-court restructurings. He also regularly provides hands-on support to management teams and private equity sponsors on interim management and business transformation mandates, helping organizations navigate periods of significant financial, operational and organizational change.

Mr. Muhek’s restructuring experience includes developing and assessing turnaround plans, managing liquidity and near-term cash requirements, evaluating in- and out-of-court restructuring alternatives and identifying value-maximizing strategies for organizations and their stakeholders. His work also includes navigating complex stakeholder dynamics and serving in chief transformation advisory roles.

Beyond traditional restructuring advisory, Mr. Muhek has significant experience in interim management and business transformation. He has supported management teams of private-equity-backed companies through finance function transformations and broader operational improvement initiatives. His experience also includes supporting management in the development, validation and implementation of significant rightsizing and cost-reduction programs.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Muhek held senior roles with a Swiss global hospitality group.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as Chief Transformation Advisor to a U.S.-based beverage consumer packaged goods (“CPG”) company, developing a go-forward business plan to support its sale and restructuring process
• Supported a large Canadian e-commerce company, backed by leading global private equity sponsors, in validating and implementing a significant rightsizing plan and updating the go-forward business plan
• Advised a regional Canadian telecom provider on a balance sheet restructuring, business plan validation, commercial reset of key vendor arrangements and broader stakeholder negotiations
• Provided interim management support to a private-equity-backed global industrial equipment manufacturer undergoing a broad transformation in response to global supply chain disruption
• Spent more than seven years with the Canadian operations of a Swiss hospitality group, progressing from Financial Controller to General Manager with full P&L responsibility for a 200-person unionized operation
