Sean A. Gumbs

Sean A. Gumbs is a Senior Managing Director and Co-Leader of New York Metro Region Corporate Finance. Mr. Gumbs has more than 25 years of experience in creating and maximizing value for stakeholders of troubled entities across a wide range of industries. His experience includes serving as a lender advisor, company-side advisor and interim executive.

Mr. Gumbs is routinely involved in high-profile restructuring assignments and has particular expertise in pharmaceutical and life sciences. He has led company-side and creditor-side assignments for more than a dozen companies in the biopharma, specialty pharma, contract manufacturing and medical device sectors. Mr. Gumbs also co-heads the firm’s Municipal Finance Service offering, which leverages the firm’s capabilities across the Corporate Finance & Restructuring, Economic Consulting, Forensic & Litigation Consulting and Strategic Communications segments. He is also an active member of several other FTI Consulting industry groups, including Infrastructure, Service and Hospitality.

Mr. Gumbs holds a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is a former board member of the Turnaround Management Association, a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor, a Certified Turnaround Professional, a former co-chair of the New York American Bankruptcy Institute Conference and has co-authored several articles on restructuring issues.

• Served in various capacities throughout high-profile restructuring assignments, with clients including CIT Group Inc.; the City of Philadelphia; the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico; MF Global Holdings Ltd.; the Official Committee of Retirees of Puerto Rico; and the Puerto Rico Highways and Transportation Authority
• Served as Interim Chief Financial Officer of Heating Oil Partners LP and International Outsourcing Services LLC
• Served as Interim Chief Executive Officer of Everyware Global
