John C. Cornell

John C. Cornell is a Senior Managing Director within the M&A Transaction Services practice and part of the broader Corporate Finance segment at FTI Consulting. Mr. Cornell has more than 20 years of diverse leadership experience as both an advisor and operator, having advised and worked in house with public and private companies across a wide range of industries, company sizes and stages of the business life cycle.

Mr. Cornell’s experience encompasses a broad range of pre- and post-M&A services, including financial due diligence (buy-side and sell-side), financial analysis, cash flow modeling, contract and vendor negotiation support, and working capital disputes, as well as capital raising, margin and EBITDA optimization, divestitures and carve-outs, and the development and execution of pre- and post-close integration plans. His industry experience spans consumer products and services, industrial products and services, home healthcare, wholesale, retail, food and beverage, financial services, and telecom, media and technology, among other sectors.

Mr. Cornell primarily focuses on providing buy-side and sell-side advisory services to private equity and strategic clients. His work includes analyzing quality of earnings, quality of assets and working capital, as well as identifying potential liabilities, risks and other transaction considerations.

Mr. Cornell is a former Big Four auditor and financial due diligence professional, as well as a former Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of a leading PE-backed SaaS business. He also previously served as Senior Vice President of M&A Integration for a healthcare roll-up, where he led cross-functional integration efforts, including the planning, implementation and management of financial and operational activities associated with the integration of acquired businesses.

Mr. Cornell holds B.S. degrees in Accounting and Finance from the Villanova School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of New York.
