Michael Cordasco has more than 20 years of experience providing restructuring advisory services to companies, lenders and official committees of unsecured creditors in both formal Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court workout situations. Mr. Cordasco has industry expertise in energy, financial services, automotive, media, telecommunications and consumer products, among other areas.
Mr. Cordasco has significant experience with reorganization and bankruptcy-related matters. His responsibilities have included plan negotiations, the preparation and review of business plans, cash flow forecasts, liquidation analyses and complex distribution waterfalls; the evaluation and negotiation of 363 sale processes; the development of strategic alternatives; the review of debtor-in-possession (“DIP”) financing facilities; and the analysis of creditors’ claims and projected recoveries under various operating and restructuring scenarios.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Cordasco was a Manager at Goldin Associates. Before that, he spent more than five years in Ernst & Young’s Corporate Finance practice.
Mr. Cordasco holds a B.S. in Accounting from Fairfield University. He is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (“CIRA”), Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”), a Certified Turnaround Professional (“CTP”) and holds a Certification in Distressed Business Valuation (“CDBV”). Mr. Cordasco previously held National Association of Securities Dealers (“NASD”) registered licenses 7 and 63. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”), the Association of Insolvency & Restructuring Advisors (“AIRA”) and the Turnaround Management Association (“TMA”).
