Patrick O’Brien

For over 20 years, Patrick O’Brien has been engaged in the professional services firms, during this time he has provided advice and solutions to business owners and operators in both stressed and non-distressed financial situations.

During Patrick’s early career as a chartered accountant he gained practical experience in a Business Services environment which allowed him to engage with clients operating in a diverse range of industries and undertakings. Since transferring into restructuring in 2005, Patrick has been engaged on a wide range of matters and has been able to bring his extensive real world experience to his engagements.

Since joining FTI Consulting, Patrick has been engaged on both formal and informal appointments, which have included independent business reviews, pre-lend reviews, voluntary administrations, liquidations and receiverships.

Areas of specialisation in Patrick’s career have included aviation, construction, heavy plant and machinery operations, hospitality and transport and logistics.

Patrick brings his practical solutions focused experience to his engagements, and a sense of purpose which drives solutions in his engagements and positive outcomes for his clients.

Relevant Experience:

• Fleet of ‘yellow goods’ - engaged to act to collect and realize a fleet of 56 units of on behalf of a secured lender
• Quarry operations - integral team member in the voluntary administration of operations that maintained five sites in Central Queensland
• Business conducting labour hire operations for abattoirs - part of a team that represented the court appointed Provisional Liquidator
• Aviation assets - acted on behalf of secured lenders in relation to aviation assets, including their collection, maintenance and realisation
