Szonja Gerencser

Szonja Gerencser is the Global Finance Director of FTI Strategic Communications and is based in New York. Her primary responsibility is providing leadership for the organization's financial function, and as a member of the Strategic Communications’ management team, to contribute to short and long-term planning and strategy. She has overall responsibility for the segment’s financial reporting, accounting matters, including audits. She works closely with segment and corporate HR on the development of performance metrics, compensation planning, and hiring strategy geared towards growth and improved profitability. She also leads and oversees the adoption of various financial and operational procedures and policies across the business. She assisted with the many acquisitions Strategic Communications made in the past couple of years and she has been the lead on the financial and operational integration of the acquired entities.

Prior to joining FTI Strategic Communications, she was a manager at Scarpati Quinn & Hennessey, LLP where she serviced clients in a broad range of industries and oversaw various financial, accounting, auditing and taxation projects.

Szonja is a CPA and holds a BBA in accounting from Bernard Baruch College, NYC. She also holds a degree in Public Affairs and Administration from Hungary.
