William C. Steere,, III

William Steere is a managing director of the FTI Strategic Communications segment and is based in New York.

Mr. Steere has 25 years of experience counseling senior management on corporate reputation, marketing, crisis management, public affairs and brand positioning.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Steere was an executive vice president with Ruder Finn, Inc, where he ran numerous nationally recognized public relations programs. His achievements include directing communications strategy for the sale of Schering-Plough Corp.'s optical division, Wesley-Jessen Corp., including initial public offering, and directing creative execution for major consumer launches including Four Seasons Hotels Inc.'s timeshare division. He has developed PR strategies to launch medical product support for Schwarz Pharma, Inc., Titan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and NeoPharm, Inc. In the technology sector, he has directed communications initiatives for CEOs and their companies, including Keynote Systems and Datek Online. On the service side, Mr. Steere has directed programs for Hilton Hotels Corp., Sentient Jet, the law firm Baker Botts, LLP, Cline, Davis and Mann, Inc. medical advertising, Rydex Series Trust, Keefe Ventures, LLC and Correctional Services Corp.

Prior to Ruder Finn, Mr. Steere established the New York office for Washington-based Advantage International and managed corporate communications for Procter & Gamble Co., CSX Corp. and Remy Amerique, Inc. Mr. Steere was also part of the team that built Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos from its inception into one of the top 20 advertising agencies in New York. Early in his career, he served in a variety of management posts at Burson-Marsteller, leading account teams for General Electric Co., Gillette Co. and M&M/Mars, Inc.
