About Pierre-Jean
Pierre-Jean Sebert’s key area of focus is to deliver change in the media and tech industries. This includes the transformation or turnaround of underperforming media and entertainment businesses, the execution of growth and profitability strategies, the operationalization of new business models (particularly in the context of transition to digital), or sector-specific advisory in M&A activities (CDD, ODD, value creation thesis, post-deal implementation/integration).
Before joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Sebert led the Media & Entertainment practice at Alvarez & Marsal for four years, on the back of his executive career in the TF1 Group as Chief Content Officer for Eurosport, MD Eurosport UK, for Arqiva as CEO of over-the-top platform (“OTT”) at SeeSaw and for the Wasserman Group as Director of Reel Enterprises, a content rights and corporate development advisor for the Premier League, UEFA, IOC, AMC Networks, the BBC and Virgin Media.
Mr. Sebert holds an M.S. in Economy and Industry Strategies from the Université Paris Dauphine.
Relevant Experience:
- Oversaw the transformation of the content operating model of a leading Pay TV operator, in the context of its transition to digital, including design and implementation.
- Oversaw the post-merger integration of two global production services and distribution companies, the project included Day-1 to Day-100 planning and synergies realization.
- Led launch set up in Asia of a Direct-to-Consumer (“D2C”) OTT subscription business for a global top 5 sports rights owner, including business modeling and planning, platform technology specs and selection, operating model design, recruitment of leadership team, pricing and go-to-market strategy.
- Led the launch of a premium content business in Europe (OTT and traditional media), including pricing and go-to-market strategy.
- Led extension into e-commerce for a large and global kids' content owner, for which he designed customer journeys, the business model and the operating model.
- Led the sale of a live entertainment company running several concert venues and a concert promotion division, including Vendor Due Diligence (“VDD”) and advisory during the sale process.
- Led or advised on multiple due diligences, including Operational Due Diligence (“ODD”), Customer Due Diligence (“CDD”), VDD and Financial Due Diligence (“FDD”) in the M&E sector (content production, content supply chain, music labels and catalogs, sports rights and organizations).
