About Dr. William
Bill Holloway is a Senior Managing Director in the Construction, Projects & Assets Advisory practice. Dr. Holloway focuses on energy asset life cycle management and has more than 18 years of experience in the energy industry and management consulting.
Dr. Holloway is a chemical engineer by training. His career started at ExxonMobil, where he worked in different business lines from research and development to process engineering to operations and supervision in the ExxonMobil Beaumont Refinery. In addition to his industrial experience, Dr. Holloway has significant management consulting experience, most recently at Boston Consulting Group as a project leader in its energy and industrial goods practices, supporting a wide range of clients on projects ranging from operations and maintenance excellence to due diligence studies to decarbonization with clients in industries from oil and gas to biotech.
Dr. Holloway is the Global Leader for Management Consulting and Strategic Advisory in the Construction, Projects & Assets Practice and is responsible for driving growth across those service lines. His client work takes the form of engagements ranging from energy efficiency, monitoring, operations and maintenance excellence, CapEx portfolio management to even decarbonization/low-carbon fuels strategy development across heavy industries energy to transportation and infrastructure. He also serves as an expert witness in international tribunals for dispute resolution related to construction, energy efficiency and operational matters.
Dr. Holloway holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego, and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University.

- Served as project leader and core member of the energy practice at Boston Consulting Group
- Advisor to top-tier clients in the energy industry, including ExxonMobil, Shell, Repsol, Saudi Aramco and BP, in projects ranging from operational and organizational transformations to decarbonization
- Worked at ExxonMobil in several business lines, including research and development, downstream (refining and petrochemicals) and process engineering and asset support
