Ali Hajjar

Ali Hajjar is a Managing Director who heads the Energy team within the Government Relations, Public & Regulatory Affairs practice in Paris. Ali has more than 11 years’ experience in the energy sector, accompanying CEOs and key decision-makers on matters related to public and regulatory affairs, business strategy and investment advisory. Passionate about economics, geopolitics and the fight against climate change, Ali combines his deep technical knowledge of the energy value chain, business strategy and regulatory affairs to help clients navigate complex energy-related issues.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ali was Director of Public and Regulatory Affairs at Eni Plenitude France, the fourth-largest energy supplier in France and a subsidiary of the Italian oil and gas group Eni. In this role, he worked closely with the CEO and board of directors to anticipate, analyze and adapt business strategies for developments in the political and regulatory landscapes of gas and electricity supply markets, renewables, energy storage and e-mobility. Ali also collaborated with operational teams to assess the technical, economical and operational impacts of regulatory changes on business activities and assist in their implementation. Additionally, he developed and deployed influence strategies with key stakeholders across the energy sector.

Alongside this role, Ali served as Vice President and then President of ANODE, the French professional association representing independent energy suppliers, where he advocated for market liberalization, represented members before public authorities and regulatory bodies, and held a seat at the French Higher Energy Council (“CSE”). Earlier in his career, Ali was a Senior Manager at a strategy consulting firm specialized in the energy sector, advising utilities on how to anticipate and adapt to changes in markets, regulation, technology and competition.

Ali is a Mechanical Engineer specialized in energy. He graduated from the Beirut School of Engineering at the Lebanese University and holds an M.Sc. in Renewable Energy from Ecole des Mines de Paris and the University of Kassel in Germany.
