About Romain
Romain Lortat-Jacob has specialised in litigation support and financial valuation across a wide variety of dispute contexts and industries for nearly 20 years.
Romain routinely acts as an expert in national proceedings (commercial court, judicial court, court of appeal, etc.) or international arbitration cases. As a financial expert, Romain advises companies and law firms on all financial and economic aspects of litigation. He has extensive experience in assessing damages such as those that may arise from breaches of contracts or international treaties, breaches of warranties and representations, breaches of fiduciary duties, counterfeiting of commercial goods, anti-competitive practices, and other tortious liabilities.
Romain’s areas of expertise also include non-contentious valuation of companies and assets in all sorts of contexts (transactions, fairness opinions, tax issues).
Romain holds a Master's degree in Corporate Finance and Financial Engineering from Dauphine University (Paris). He is a member of Société Française des Evaluateurs (SFEV) and Association Française d'Arbitrage (AFA). He has authored or co-authored several articles on damages and valuation-related topics.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Romain previously worked for fifteen years at another financial consulting firm and, before that, in the corporate finance division of a Big Four accounting firm. Romain is recognised by Who's Who Legal in the Commercial Litigation - Expert Witnesses Listing 2021.
