Alex Davie

Alex Davie is a Senior Managing Director in the Economic and Financial Consulting practice of FTI Consulting, based in London. Alex is a Chartered Accountant and has more than 20 years of professional experience in financial and accounting matters. For 16 of those years, his focus has been the provision of financial and economic advice in the context of disputes, which typically involves the quantification of lost profits, business or intellectual property valuation, assessments of wasted costs or advice relating to accounting matters.

Alex has been appointed as expert in arbitration proceedings under the rules of LCIA, ICC, SIAC and DIAC, as well as matters before bilateral investment treaty tribunals, the English High Court, the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands and the ADGM Courts. He also has experience in valuation work in noncontentious circumstances, including in the context of corporate restructuring or transactions. Alex has given oral testimony in investment treaty arbitration, commercial arbitration and court hearings, including in matters in which more than $1 billion has been in dispute.

Alex is named by Lexology as a ‘Thought Leader’ on its list of Arbitration expert witnesses and is also recommended on Lexology’s Commercial Litigation list.

Prior to working at FTI Consulting, Alex was a member of Morgan Stanley’s top-ranked leisure and hotels equity research team, where he wrote investment research; performed financial analysis; worked on an initial public offering; and presented to the firm’s stockbrokers, traders and clients. He retains an interest in the leisure sector, including gambling, hotels, hospitality, tour operators and cruise lines.

Alex started his career as an auditor of financial services businesses where his clients included a sovereign wealth fund, investment managers, banks and insurance companies. He regularly presents on damages and valuation issues to disputes lawyers.
