Carson Xu

Carson Xu is a Managing Director in the Economic & Financial Consulting segment and is based in Seoul. Carson joined FTI Consulting in 2016 and was previously based in the London office.

Carson has extensive experience in advisory roles across regulated industries, including mobile and fixed telecommunications, electricity, gas, payments systems and private healthcare. His past clients include regulatory authorities, governments, regulated companies and investors across these industries.

Carson has worked on engagements in a wide range of geographies, including the UK, mainland Europe, Australia, Korea, Japan and the Caribbean. He also has experience providing expert advice in the context of disputes, such as in legal challenges to regulatory decisions or valuations of regulated companies.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Carson held positions both as a consultant in PwC’s Economics & Policy practice and as an economist at Ofcom, the UK communications regulator, where he was a member of the Chief Economist’s team.

Carson holds a B.Sc. with honours in economics from the University of Warwick.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as an advisor to governments and operators engaged in state-funded broadband infrastructure projects in both Europe and Australia
• Assessed revenue opportunities and customer benefits associated with energy infrastructure projects in Australia and Asia Pacific
• Served as an advisor to a global card payments operator engaged in detailed regulatory processes in Europe
• Developed regulatory policy as an economic advisor at a UK communications advisor; provided expertise related to fixed telecommunications, mobile telecommunications and content markets
