Cheryl Tang

Cheryl Tang is a Managing Director in the Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment at FTI Consulting, based in Singapore. With more than 20 years of professional experience and nearly 15 years specialising in corporate restructuring and workouts, Cheryl is a trusted advisor to stakeholders navigating complex financial and operational challenges.

Ms. Tang has led engagements across a spectrum of restructuring scenarios, including corporate turnarounds, consensual workouts and both solvent and insolvent administrations within Singapore’s legal framework, including personal insolvency matters. Ms. Tang also brings cross-border experience, having advised on matters involving the U.S. Chapter 11 bankruptcy regime and engaged in recovery efforts across markets such as Singapore, Indonesia, China and the United States.

Beyond restructuring, Ms. Tang provides strategic business advisory services to corporates seeking to enhance financial performance including optimising working capital, streamline operations and rationalise corporate structures to prepare for milestones such as IPOs and other business pursuits, bridging financial insight with operational execution.

Previously, Ms. Tang was seconded to the Asia Pacific project management team of the Singapore branch of a leading UK bank, where she successfully led and coordinated more than 10 workstreams in transferring part of the Singapore branch’s operations — an integral initiative in the UK bank’s global restructuring programme.

Ms. Tang’s professional foundation began in audit, where she worked with private and listed entities across diverse industries including freight and logistics, diversified industrials, government-linked corporations and Japanese-owned enterprises, honing her holistic understanding of business dynamics across sectors and geographies through this breadth of exposure.
