Henry Pannell

Henry Pannell is a Chartered Accountant and expert witness. He specialises in providing expert financial advice in international arbitration, domestic litigation (UK and South Africa), and competition matters.

Henry has over 14 years’ experience in economic and financial analysis, accounting and auditing. During this time, he has provided economic and financial consulting advice to clients across a wide range of industries and jurisdictions.

Henry has been appointed as an expert witness in the UK and in South Africa, in both arbitral and litigation proceedings. He has given oral testimony.

Henry’s international arbitration and litigation experience includes providing expert advice in the quantification of lost profits, accounting matters, business valuation, and assessments of wasted costs. His experience includes matters before the England and Wales courts, the South Africa High Court, the Royal Court of Jersey, and various arbitration tribunals, including under ICSID, UNCITRAL, LCIA, ICC, SIAC and NPC Rules.

Henry also provides expert competition advice in relation to follow on damages, market investigations, and pricing issues. He has worked on matters before various UK, European and South African regulatory and competition bodies.

Prior to working on disputes and economic consulting engagements, Henry worked in audit at EY in London.

Henry holds an M.Eng in Engineering with Business Finance from the University of College of London. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland (ICAS).
