Jonathan McLean specialises in valuations and expert witness services with a strong focus on the mining sector.

Working with M&A or legal advisors and their clients, Jonathan advises on valuation and damages issues to resolve challenging and contentious situations. He also has extensive experience critiquing the opinions of opposing independent experts and technical experts.

Jonathan’s expertise covers the valuation of businesses; equity, options and derivatives; ore reserves and mineral resources; mining leases and exploration stage assets; mineral inventories; mine development; royalty agreements; offtake agreements; hedge books; debt; commodity prepay credit facilities; streaming facilities; and circulating and non-circulating assets.

Jonathan develops valuation reports and expert witness reports that are succinct, persuasive and compliant with relevant standards (APES 215, APES 225, IVS, VALMIN Code, RG 111, RG 112, etc.) and relevant expert witness code of conduct.

In the past, Jonathan worked for a leading economic research firm and developed quantitative share trading strategies.
