Laurie Binge

Laurie Binge has over nine years of experience as an economist specialising in regulatory and competition economics, offering advice to clients across different industries. This has included the analysis of mergers and acquisitions, abuse of dominance complaints, damages estimation, cartel screening, policy evaluation, economic regulation and dispute resolution. Fields of expertise include telecoms, FMCGs, commodities, trade, healthcare, the labour market, energy, and utility pricing.

Laurie’s responsibilities include project management, economic research, data analysis, econometric modelling, and the preparation of reports for commercial clients. He has extensive experience working on projects that require data analysis and quantitative skills.

Laurie recently completed his Ph.D. in Economics at Stellenbosch University. The dissertation applied various quantitative techniques to analyse the South African art market, business confidence and uncertainty in South Africa, and historical commodity prices in the Cape Colony.
