Mark Davies

Mark Davies leads the technology M&A and value creation service offerings within the EMEA Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment. Mr. Davies works in partnership with private equity and corporate clients on M&A, value creation and performance improvement opportunities in technology-centric sectors.

Mr. Davies has more than 30 years of experience across the full M&A lifecycle, from target screening and pre-deal due diligence to post-deal integration and separation. He works extensively with owners and management teams to take control of investments, define strategy, strengthen governance and implement efficient operating models.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Davies spent time with Alvarez & Marsal, where he focused on pre-deal and operational restructuring. Previously, he worked for Deloitte Transaction Services, focusing on post-deal and value creation services. Preceding this role, Mr. Davies was a Senior Consultant at Capgemini, working on large-scale technology-enabled business transformation programmes aimed at reducing operational overheads and associated running costs.

Mr. Davies has also worked with global multinational corporations, including British American Tobacco, Eli Lilly and Rolls Royce, on a wide range of value creation initiatives. Additionally, his early career was spent working with IBM, BT Group, CSC and Fujitsu on the design, delivery and support of strategic outsourcing services spanning functional, departmental and business process outsourcing.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as interim chief integration officer (‘CIO’) and integration lead for an investment bank on its acquisition and integration of a UK fuel storage business; included delivery of replacement enterprise resource planning (‘ERP’)
• Served as interim CIO and lead for the separation of IT assets and resources of a UK defence contractor in a public-to-private transaction; included preparation for follow-on sale
• Executed IT integration and transition service agreement (‘TSA’) exit delivery for a global data centre business following its acquisition of European assets; included operating model design and technology platforms
• Led IT separation for a global high-tech engineering business, European HQ; built out IT function and technology landscape to support standalone operation
• Led IT carveout for a UK power station from a European owner; included Day-One preparation, TSA entry, separation planning and execution
• Led IT carveout for a global auto parts business following acquisition; included separation blueprint, Day-One, TSA entry and integration planning with buyer’s asset
• Conducted IT carveout diligence for the disposal of two sites of a global tank fuel storage business with a focus on TSAs, Day-One, separation costs, blueprint and planning
• Led IT carveout for a European aluminium producer; focused on due diligence and standalone assessment, including ERP and operational systems and TSA review
