Michael Berkin

Mike Berkin is an experienced financial advisor who specializes in providing restructuring services to companies and creditors in the troubled company environment, including both formal Chapter 11 proceedings and out-of-court workout situations. Mr. Berkin has more than 20 years of experience in restructuring advisory and litigation support, with industry expertise in financial services, not-for-profit, mass tort and retail and consumer products, among other areas.

Mr. Berkin’s responsibilities have included reviewing and developing business plans and plans of reorganization, preparing and evaluating financial projections, models and liquidation analyses and valuing complex business assets. He is also experienced in performing forensic financial investigations, providing trust advisory services and providing litigation support, including consulting on expert report development.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Berkin was a Director at Goldin Associates, where he supported numerous companies, trustees, examiners and lenders in bankruptcy, turnarounds and litigation. Preceding this role, he was a Managing Director at a restructuring advisory boutique, where his responsibilities included assisting creditors in evaluating strategic, operating and restructuring plans, analyzing claims and developing proposals to maximize creditor recoveries.
