Priscilla Kar

Priscilla Kar is a chartered quantity surveyor with more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Priscilla has acted as a party-appointed quantum expert in international arbitration, adjudication and negotiation, specialising in quantum matters arising from delay, disruption, variations, contract termination and construction defects. Her expert witness work includes detailed quantum analysis, preparation of independent expert reports and close collaboration with counsel and instructing solicitors. She is experienced in case management and has supported legal teams in the preparation of witness evidence and cross-examination.

Priscilla has been involved in a wide range of construction projects across the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific regions, including onshore and offshore oil and gas projects, power plants, offshore wind farms, floating production storage and offloading (‘FPSO’), international airports, rail infrastructure, hospitals and defense, as well as residential and commercial projects. Her extensive international experience includes working with a variety of contract forms, including FIDIC, JCT and NEC.

Priscilla began her career as a project quantity surveyor and has accumulated more than 10 years of on-site and commercial experience across the UK, Ireland, China and Hong Kong. Her expertise spans cost control and monitoring, procurement and tendering, contract negotiation and management, as well as valuing and negotiating variations, loss and expense claims, and final account settlements.

Priscilla holds a B.Sc., with honours, in Construction Economics and Management, an M.Sc. in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from King’s College London and an LL.B., with honours, from the University of London. She is a Fellow of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (‘RICS’) and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (‘CIArb’). In addition, she serves as an adjudicator and is registered with the UK Adjudicators Panel.
