Robin Bachmann

Robin Bachmann advises governments and development companies on regional and city development, combining strategy consulting with urban planning expertise to turn vision into spatial, economic and investment programs. Mr. Bachmann has more than 10 years’ experience developing strategies, concept masterplans, feasibility studies, business cases, governance models and institutional performance improvement programs.

Mr. Bachmann has developed regional and city strategies for some of the GCC’s largest cities and regions. In this work, he has led the development of strategies and concept masterplans for major economic and infrastructure projects, including a regional corridor linking two GCC cities and an economic city strategy and concept masterplan.

Mr. Bachmann has delivered urban regeneration programs that activated land banks, incentives and catalytic projects. He has also designed national and regional competitiveness programs — including a regional small and medium-sized enterprise (“SME”) strategy — to boost private investment, job creation and sustainable socioeconomic development.

Relevant Experience:

• Led an economic city strategy and concept masterplan linking land use, incentives, governance and phased investment
• Led regional strategy refreshes for populous and landlocked GCC regions; defined clusters, growth corridors and catalyst projects
• Led corridor strategy between two major GCC cities, integrating logistics, zones and surrounding area development
• Led city strategy for a GCC country’s second-largest city; oversaw the concept city masterplan to align projects and phasing
• Led a socioeconomic growth plan for an underdeveloped region to raise jobs, incomes and service access
• Led a regional SME development strategy, with deep dives across all regions and a targeted intervention pipeline
