Ryan Principe

Ryan Principe specializes in helping healthcare providers identify and implement solutions to enhance their patient service revenue, optimize their revenue cycle functions and improve the patient financial experience. Mr. Principe is part of the executive leadership team for the firm’s Healthcare Managed Services (“HMS”) operation.

Mr. Principe has more than 14 years of experience working with diverse provider types in the healthcare industry across the United States, including hospital systems, academic medical centers, physician groups, telehealth companies, urgent care companies and oral surgery groups. Throughout his career, he has successfully led projects that have accelerated cash collections, reduced aged accounts receivables, lowered denials rates and implemented process improvements in both front-end and back-end revenue cycle functions. His expertise lies in identifying opportunities for optimization and delivering measurable outcomes for his clients.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Principe served as the director of patient financial services for the largest healthcare system in South Carolina. In this role, he led a team of more than 250 revenue cycle employees across 12 acute care facilities as the organization transitioned four hospitals to Epic’s integrated medical records and revenue cycle management software from its legacy revenue cycle system.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Mr. Principe holds a B.A. in Economics and an M.H.A. in Healthcare Administration Policy and Management.

Relevant Experience:

• Led a large-scale legacy accounts receivable (“A/R”) run down project for a large academic medical center; resulted in total cash collections exceeding goal by approximately $2 million
• Led a cash acceleration project for a financially distressed hospital as part of a financial turnaround plan to bring Days Cash on Hand to bond covenant thresholds
• Led a cash acceleration and A/R reduction project for a large urgent care company; resulted in 11% in cash collection rates and reduced A/R days by 10
