Sara Peczkowski

Sara Peczkowski is a Senior Director in the Forensic & Litigation Consulting segment and is based in Bethesda, MD. Ms. Peczkowski has provided consulting and litigation support on a broad range of damages, including review and analysis of claims on behalf of both contractors and owners. These damages include breach of contract, requests for equitable adjustment, contract changes and other types of cost analyses and investigative engagements.

Ms. Peczkowski has assisted with interim and close-out contract audits, pre-contract rate audits and contract compliance reviews. These engagements have included various types of buildings (e.g., embassy, residential, educational, hotel, casino) and all types of infrastructure projects (e.g., highway, bridge, rail, tunnel, airport, dam, marine terminal, transmission lines, waste facilities).

As part of Ms. Peczkowski’s responsibilities, she reviews and assists in evaluating claim methodologies and supporting information; adequacy of accounting systems; testing of labor, subcontractor, equipment, material and other direct costs related to the damages; and application of overhead and other mark-ups (e.g., bonds, insurance, profit). She also reviews summary and source documentation, including contracts, general ledgers, job cost reports, financial statements, payroll records, change orders, payment requisitions, invoices and time sheets.

Ms. Peczkowski provides audit, litigation support and consulting services to governmental agencies, private law firms and construction contractors, as well as to government contractors. She has assisted in negotiations, settlement discussions and arbitration and has worked for various owners, such as developers, universities, states and U.S. government agencies. She has also provided cost and pricing services on behalf of national and regional contractors, government contractors, and other corporate entities.

Ms. Peczkowski is a Certified Public Accountant and received a B.S. in accounting at the University of Delaware.
