In preparing for the next phase of growth, eight UK-based digital healthcare startup companies participating in the Texas Medical Center Innovation accelerator as part of the Innovate UK Global Incubator Program sought guidance on their market entry strategy for launching in the United States. Each startup was at a distinct stage of development and faced unique challenges related to scaling and infrastructure. FTI Consulting was engaged to evaluate their readiness and provide recommendations to effectively navigate, introduce or scale their products or services in the U.S. market.
Our Impact
- FTI Consulting provided feedback and recommendations for each startup’s U.S. go-to-market strategy.
- Each startup received a detailed report outlining the results of the readiness assessment, including an analysis of all go-to-market factors measured and recommendations for addressing any identified gaps or weaknesses in relation to U.S. market entry opportunities.
Our Role
- FTI Consulting assessed go-to-market readiness across several key criteria: market opportunity, product-market fit (including target market and value proposition), distribution strategy, marketing strategy, sales strategy, financial viability, operational readiness and regulatory and compliance.
- Our team distributed a customized survey to each startup to collect baseline information, such as the completion status of essential go-to-market activities. We complemented the surveys with detailed interviews of key stakeholders within each startup to gain deeper insights into their strategic objectives, operational challenges and overall readiness.
- Using the data from the survey and interviews, we created a comprehensive scorecard for each startup, which identified their strengths and areas for improvement.
