John McSorley

John McSorley is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry. John specialises in the provision of expert evidence in the field of quantum for construction and engineering disputes, with experience of projects in the UK, Africa, Middle East, Canada and Ireland.

In the last five years, John has worked exclusively in the dispute resolution field. He has acted for employers, contractors and sub-contractors to produce and defend claims in engineering and construction projects. His experience encompasses the forums of arbitration, litigation, adjudication, conciliation and mediation. He has testified in court and adjudication.

Prior to becoming a consultant with FTI Consulting, John worked in senior positions with several major national contractors. During a period of more than 20 years, he gained extensive procurement, contractual and commercial management experience across a range of construction and engineering projects.

John is an accomplished Quantum Expert and has extensive experience in the forensic analysis of quantum matters, including the preparation and defence of claims, such as contentious valuation issues as well as labour and plant disruption.
