Laura B. Arrigo, CCP, PSP

Laura Arrigo has more than 20 years of experience analyzing and quantifying construction-related claims on complex projects. Ms. Arrigo’s expertise includes schedule delay and disruption analysis primarily through the use of Critical Path Method (“CPM”) scheduling techniques and the analysis and evaluation of delay, disruption and loss of productivity damages. She helps contractors and owners with the management of schedule and cost risk throughout construction.

Ms. Arrigo’s experience includes the overall management of the delay and disruption claim analysis on numerous complex construction projects, some with claim values exceeding one billion dollars. She consults on projects located domestically and internationally. Her experience encompasses projects in various construction industry sectors and includes power plants, industrial and manufacturing facilities, universities, commercial buildings, transportation and rail projects, professional sports team facilities and wastewater treatment facilities. She has consulted on projects located in the United States, China, Canada, Australia, Lebanon, Algeria, the United Arab Emirates and the Caribbean.

In addition to her extensive experience providing forensic claims analysis and quantification, Ms. Arrigo also provides consulting for ongoing projects. She helps clients identify and manage schedule and cost risk during the project and assists in the preparation of, or defense against, requests for additional time or money.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Ms. Arrigo served as project executive for The Rhodes Group.

Ms. Arrigo holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated magna cum laude. She is a Certified Cost Professional (“CCP”) and a Planning and Scheduling Professional (“PSP”). Ms. Arrigo is a member of the Engineering and Construction Contracting Association (“ECC”).

Relevant Experience:

• Managed subcontractor claims analysis related to on-call consulting services provided to the contractor responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of a $15 billion onshore liquefied natural gas facility in Australia, including claims related to the $1 billion combined cycle power plant that was integral to the facility; supported the engineering, procurement and construction (“EPC”) contractor’s substantiation and submission of change order requests to the owner for additional time and costs and defended against claims submitted by subcontractors on the project
• Led the analysis of schedule delays related to the $2 billion engineering, procurement and construction of two polyethylene units; the analysis included the defense and rebuttal of claims between joint venture partners related to delay, acceleration and lost productivity and associated direct and indirect costs; the analysis also included a review of the progress-related reporting associated with alleged fraud in the reported progress of engineering
• Analyzed delays to the construction of a $750 million project involving the design and construction of a 23-mile extension to an existing light rail line; assessed delays primarily associated with owner-directed changes impacting the primary critical path of the project as well as various near-critical paths; reviewed and examined differing results from multiple industry-accepted CPM delay analysis methodologies
• Managed the assessment of alleged schedule delays and quantification of alleged damages related to the construction of a CAD3 billion potash mine in Canada; engaged by counsel for the contractor performing the CAD513 million scope of work for the installation of mechanical, electrical and piping components of the mine; assessed the cause of delays and related acceleration, including consideration of late engineering deliverables, late-provided access to work areas and a 50% growth in the contracted scope of work; the analysis also included an evaluation of labor inefficiencies suffered by the contractor
• Managed the analysis of schedule delays related to the $7 billion design and construction of two nuclear units at the existing Vogtle Nuclear Power Plant in the United States; assisted in the quantification of additional costs resulting from impacts and delays to the civil scope of work
