About Jason
Jason Markham has more than 25 years of healthcare experience in private equity (“PE”)-backed physician practice management (“PPM”), for-profit medical group performance improvement and restructuring, physician compensation modeling, patient access and contact center initiatives, and integration of large group acquisitions by health systems.
Mr. Markham has provided operational leadership and strategic advisory services to large multispecialty medical groups and health systems in both private and publicly held companies. He has extensive experience working closely with lenders, venture capitalists, physician leaders and hospital leaders on performance improvement initiatives and service line development. Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Markham served as the Chief Administrative Officer (“CAO”) at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic (“CTC”). He also served as the Chief Operating Officer for CHRISTUS Physician Enterprise where he was responsible for overseeing the operations of a multispecialty group of more than 1,200 physicians and advanced practice clinicians with revenue exceeding $500 million and an administrative expense budget of $300 million. While there, he was a member of the executive leadership team. Mr. Markham managed the ambulatory division with more than 5,000 employees and served as head of all integration initiatives. He held previous executive positions with Baylor Health Texas Provider Network, EmCare, Inc. and Mercy Clinic.
During Mr. Markham’s tenure as CAO, CTC grew from 350 clinicians to more than 1,200 from 2017 to 2020. In addition, he led an 18-month, $45 million electronic medical record (“EMR”) conversion. Mr. Markham also played critical roles in acquisitions, recruitment and service line diversification including hospital-based service lines and ambulatory clinics. As CAO of CTC, Mr. Markham won the 2017 Acclaim Award, supported by the AMGA Foundation, which rewards the nation’s premier healthcare delivery organizations that are high-performing and bringing their organization closer to the ideal delivery model.
Mr. Markham brings a unique breadth and depth of operational experience to his consulting career, having led both for-profit and not-for profit physician groups and healthcare systems. Starting with a background in physician practice management, he has built his career assisting health systems in operationalizing their physician organizations. His expertise combines physician practice operations, technology and organizational effectiveness.
Mr. Markham holds a B.A. in Management from West Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. with a specialization in Health Organization Management from Texas Tech University.
