Matt Bartlett specializes in delivering end-to-end strategic transformation to complex supply networks. Mr. Bartlett brings more than a decade of executive leadership and advisory experience across supply chain functions. He has industry experience spanning consumer goods, industrials and chemicals, life sciences, medical devices, high technology and communications industries.
Mr. Bartlett has expertise in planning, procurement, manufacturing and logistics, with a keen eye on service and cost optimization. His specialties include end-to-end supply chain transformation, complex strategic negotiations, manufacturing strategy, global strategic sourcing, process improvements and organizational design and capability assessments.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Bartlett was the Vice President of Supply Chain at a U.S.-based, publicly traded food company. Through his tenure, Mr. Bartlett held multiple roles, with end-to-end responsibilities for planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and fulfillment, product development and strategic projects. Mr. Bartlett led or was directly responsible for critical supply chain activities, including: delivering a supply chain performance turnaround enabling the PE transaction creating a new, public company; reorganizing global and regional functions to align strategy, team performance and cost; establishing new strategic relationships with direct materials suppliers, external manufacturers and third-party logistics (“3PLs”); designing and leading a multiyear supply network reinvention program that included manufacturing start-ups and reshoring, new supplier activation and logistics network redesign to optimize supply chain performance.
Mr. Bartlett also brings previous management consulting experience, spanning industries and supply chain challenges across direct and indirect procurement, manufacturing performance improvement and logistics strategy and network design.
Relevant Experience:
- Led global end-to-end supply chain transformation for a multibillion-dollar publicly traded industrial manufacturer; included portfolio simplification, planning, procurement, manufacturing and logistics
- Established planning war room to improve operational planning and component ordering for a multibillion-dollar manufacturing company; improved product supply by 60% within 60 days of war room start
- Owned and led end-to-end supply chain for a publicly traded consumer packaged goods company; responsible for safety, quality, service and financial performance across planning, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, new product development and strategic projects
- Designed and led a multiyear supply chain reinvention program; included manufacturing start-ups in the United States and Mexico, logistics network and fulfillment strategy redesign and supplier base geographic realignment
- Reorganized a global procurement function with a focus on establishing new strategic supplier relationships, outsourcing overseas purchasing activities and improving coordination with external manufacturers
- Directed concurrent production facility start-ups in Mexico and the United States at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic; included enrollment in Industria Manufacturera, Maquiladora y de Servicios de Exportacion (“IMMEX”) and value-added tax (“VAT”) certificates
- Delivered target savings over multiple global strategic sourcing engagements, encompassing most spend categories for public, private and PE-backed companies
- Developed global fourth-party logistics (“4PL”) strategy for a leading semiconductor company
- Ran a sourcing engagement for direct materials for a multibillion-dollar communications company; outsourced direct services and field and construction services
- Designed a third-party workforce management office for a global life sciences company; coordinated stakeholders across human resources, research and development, finance, procurement and IT
- Directed cross-functional systems migration of a company acquisition to legacy SAP systems in under four months with zero service disruptions
