Marcelo Botelho

Marcelo Botelho has more than 20 years of experience advising both private equity firms and corporate clients on merger integration, carve-out, value creation, operational efficiency and major transformation initiatives.

Marcelo has a proven track record of assisting senior leadership teams in mergers and acquisitions, carve-outs and post-merger integrations, from pre-sign to post-completion, and restructurings. His expertise includes integration and separation assessment, planning and execution, synergy assessments, operational due diligence, operating model assessment and redesign, performance improvement and CFO advisory.

Marcelo has extensive experience leading finance functions and advising CFOs, particularly in assessing, planning and implementing change.

Throughout his career, Marcelo has worked in both the UK and Latin America, developing a deep understanding of navigating diverse cultures and engaging with stakeholders across global markets. He is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.

Before joining FTI Consulting, Marcelo worked for leading advisory firms. Prior to this, he spent 13 years leading finance functions, including multiple tenures as CFO.

Relevant Experience:

• Led the carve-out of the Latin American business out of a global cosmetics company
• Led carve-out due diligence for a portfolio company (“PortCo”) of CVC Capital Partners on the successful acquisition of a building materials business
• Led carve-out due diligence for Bain Capital on a travel/leisure target
• Led finance function integration workstream for a global pharmaceuticals business
• Led 13-week cash flow forecast work for a PortCo of Advent International
• Led integration of two competitors within a merger of equals model as CFO
• Led cost-out diagnostic for a Cinven PortCo
