About Miguel Ángel
Miguel Ángel Díez is a Senior Managing Director in FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance segment. Miguel Ángel has more than 20 years of experience in debt advisory, financial restructuring and capital raising.
Since 2008, Miguel Ángel has been involved in multiple major restructurings in Spain and has extensive expertise across a wide range of industries, including infrastructure, tourism, mobility, industrial and retail. He has been appointed as restructuring expert under Spanish law in several major and complex transactions, including Losan Group, Urbas group and Vodafone-Finetwork, acting as a consensus advisor between the debtor and creditors. Additionally, Miguel Ángel has worked in Latin America, where he raised capital for tourism groups in Chile, Peru and Colombia.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Miguel Ángel worked for more than seven years at PwC in the Restructuring practice. Previously, he was part of the Global Debt Restructuring team at Banco Popular (now Banco Santander), where he managed a portfolio of clients with a debt exposure to the bank exceeding €100 million. He has also participated in distressed M&A transactions, managing the sale of several business units within bankruptcy proceedings.
Relevant Experience:
- Financial Advisor to a syndicate of nine banks in the debt restructuring of TSK Group, which culminated in a new financial structure featuring the extension of a €520 million syndicated bonding line and a new €100 million syndicated facility, concluding with the Group's IPO in May 2026
- Financial Advisor in the debt restructuring and capital injection for new investments in Wallbox Group
- Financial Advisor to a pool of banks negotiating the entry of a new investor with a capital injection of more than €120 million for the food industry company Cerealto Siro Group
- Financial Advisor to OHL Group for the restructuring of the Group's debt and the granting of a new €750 million working capital financing platform
- Financial Advisor to the financial institutions of Bergé Group for its debt restructuring in 2019, which culminated in a minority investment by Mitsubishi Group
- Financial Advisor to DIA Group during the Group's debt restructuring process, which resulted in a new investor taking a majority equity stake and the restructuring of the Group's bank debt
- Financial Advisor to the European Investment Bank (“EIB”) regarding Tubacex Group in negotiations for installment deferrals and the extension of waivers within the context of a financing transaction
