Larry W. Lake, P.E.

Larry W. Lake is an Affiliate of FTI Platt Sparks based in Austin. Dr. Lake has been affiliated with Platt, Sparks & Associates since 1995 as an Engineering Advisor and Senior Consulting Engineer. He is recognized for his expertise in reservoir engineering, enhanced oil recovery, reservoir characterization and geochemical modeling.

Dr. Lake is the Interim Chair as well as a Professor in the Petroleum and Geosystems Engineering Department at The University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Lake has been teaching for 27 years, prior to which he worked for the Shell Development Company in Houston, Texas. He has authored and co-authored numerous technical articles one of which includes the textbook Enhanced Oil Recovery. In addition, Dr. Lake has conducted industrial and professional society short courses in enhanced oil recovery and reservoir characterization.

Dr. Lake holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Arizona State University and a Ph.D. from Rice University. Dr. Lake is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
