Michael Spadea

Michael Spadea helps clients obtain value from their data by building strong governance programs that simultaneously mitigate risk and enable business growth. Mr. Spadea leads the Technology segment’s Information Governance, Privacy & Security Practice for North America and co-leads the North America Risk & Compliance practice. He works with clients across industries to design and improve governance frameworks in response to regulatory requirements and an array of digital risks. As a trusted expert advisor, Mr. Spadea supports organizations in mitigating incidents, implementing preventative measures and leveraging technology innovations such as artificial intelligence to build trust and value.

Mr. Spadea’s experience includes creating comprehensive governance programs that align data management with privacy compliance and other business critical needs. He has deep experience conducting audits, assessments and regulatory response for data protection laws across jurisdictions, including the General Data Protection Regulation and the California Consumer Privacy Act. Mr. Spadea also designs privacy technology architecture that enables data inventory and data flow for large, integrated, complex data systems in highly regulated industries including health care and financial services.

Prior to joining FTI Technology, Mr. Spadea was Senior Managing Director, Information Governance and Privacy, at PwC, where he led a large regional privacy practice. He was also previously Director, Privacy, Cybersecurity and Information Assurance, at Promontory Financial Group, overseeing the organization’s U.S. privacy practice.
