FTI Consulting Appoints Julia Harrison as Global Head of Public Affairs Practice within the Strategic Communications Segment and Hans Hack to Lead Brussels Office
Brussels, 10 December 2019 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today appointed Julia Harrison to lead the global Public Affairs practice within the Company’s Strategic Communications segment. As part of the newly created role, Ms Harrison will oversee an integrated offering for clients navigating political and regulatory oversight and complex business issues, as well as maximize and coordinate business development opportunities across sectors and geographies.
Ms Harrison is currently Managing Partner of the Brussels office of FTI Consulting. She co-founded Blueprint, a public affairs company, in 2003, building it with her partners and team to become an internationally recognized market leader. In 2008, the firm joined FD, which later became part of FTI Consulting, and she has led the Brussels office since then.
FTI Consulting today also announced that Hans Hack, a Senior Managing Director who has been part of the Brussels leadership team for six years and has run day-to-day operations for the past year, will succeed Ms Harrison as head of the Brussels office. Ms Harrison will continue to be based in Brussels.
Commenting on the announcement, Mark McCall, Global Segment Leader of the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting, said, “Political and business issues increasingly span borders, so now is the right time for us to combine our expertise at a global level with Julia stepping up to lead our public affairs offering. We already have a great record of working cross-border on public affairs strategies and campaigns that deliver for clients. Julia has the experience, credibility and track record to make sure we go beyond this and deliver a consistent global point of view and quality of service to clients. This is an important and valuable element of our business.”
Commenting on Mr Hack’s appointment, Mr McCall added, “Hans is well placed to continue to drive the growth of the Brussels office. As part of the leadership team in Brussels, he has worked closely with Julia and the rest of the leadership team to firmly establish the office as a market leader and ensure unmatched client service day in and day out.”
Ms Harrison said, “I’m delighted to be taking on this global public affairs role, which is a significant driver of our business; indeed, the practice has nearly doubled in size since 2013. Clients want to work with the best people, and we have a world-class team. This is a great opportunity to work with all the experts we have in place across the world, pulling together an offering that is a real differentiator when it comes to clients and business development — no matter where they need that support or in what sector.”
Mr Hack said, “It’s an honour to be asked to lead the Brussels team. This is a vibrant, fast-moving, multinational office that continues to grow and deliver great work for clients in Brussels and beyond. I’ll continue to work closely with Julia, making the most of the global connections and expertise that we offer at FTI Consulting.”
