FTI Consulting Expands Its Crisis and Public Affairs Offerings in Washington, D.C. with Appointments of Meredith Griffanti and Cory Fritz
WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 25, 2019 — FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced the expansion of its Strategic Communications segment in Washington, D.C. with the addition of Meredith Griffanti and Cory Fritz.
Ms. Griffanti, a seasoned crisis communications professional, joins as a Managing Director in the Crisis & Issues Management practice and will report to Senior Managing Director Myron Marlin. Mr. Fritz, a veteran Capitol Hill communications expert, joins as a Managing Director in the Public Affairs practice and will report to Jackson Dunn, the firm’s Americas Head of Public Affairs.
Ms. Griffanti and Mr. Fritz deepen the firm’s ability to advise clients during significant moments of change, challenge or opportunity, both inside and outside the Beltway. Ms. Griffanti has managed communications around one of the largest corporate crises in recent memory and has roots as a Hill staffer. Mr. Fritz’s expertise covers a wide array of policy issues, with particular insight into foreign affairs and economic policy issues.

Ms. Griffanti brings more than 10 years as a global communications professional, both on Capitol Hill and for a global corporation. Most recently, she served as Strategy & Communications Leader for the Office of Transformation at Equifax. While there, she was responsible for managing crisis communications and driving enterprise messaging around the response to one of the largest cyber-attacks in American history. Prior to that, she served as Equifax’s International Public Affairs Leader, where she spearheaded the company’s engagement programs across 10 Latin American countries. A fluent Spanish speaker, Ms. Griffanti was responsible for managing communications for several high-profile crises and multiple cyber threats across the region. She began her career on Capitol Hill, where she served as a press and communications advisor to U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, U.S. Congressman Phil Gingrey and U.S. Congressman Paul Broun. As part of her role, Ms. Griffanti will collaborate with FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice to help clients manage communications around cybersecurity incidents.
Mr. Fritz has served elected officials in Washington, D.C. for more than a decade. Most recently, he was Deputy Staff Director for the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where he served on Chairman Ed Royce’s senior staff and played a key role in shaping policy and strategy while also managing communications operations. Congressman Royce lauded Mr. Fritz’s efforts on the floor of the House of Representatives, remarking that the “Foreign Affairs Committee has benefited greatly from his sound judgment, skill and passion for the values, including a free press, that have made America strong.”
Previously, Mr. Fritz served on the staff of Speaker of the House John Boehner for six years, where he was an on-the-record spokesperson responsible for all outreach to the Capitol press corps. Prior to that, he was Speaker Boehner’s Political Communications Director, where he drove integrated messaging campaigns and worked on the record with the national press corps. He began his career as Speechwriter and Assistant Press Secretary to the late Senator George V. Voinovich.
