Maria Paula Duque Joins FTI Consulting as Managing Director in Colombia

Bogotá, Colombia, March 16, 2021 – FTI Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: FCN) today announced that Maria Paula Duque has been named a Managing Director within the Strategic Communications segment, based in Bogotá. Ms. Duque brings to FTI Consulting deep crisis communications and public affairs expertise, serving clients in highly regulated industries globally and within the Colombian market. She will co-lead the Strategic Communications team in Colombia with Managing Director Jorge Del Castillo and report to Ana Heeren, a Senior Managing Director and Head of Latin America for the Strategic Communications segment at FTI Consulting.

Ms. Duque joins FTI Consulting from Avianca Holdings, a Latin American airline holding company, where she served as Senior Vice President of Strategic Relations & Chief Customer Experience Officer working to improve the company’s approach to customer experience, stakeholders and crisis management. During the last five years, Ms. Duque was a key player in structuring the strategy and execution of the company’s sustainability, public affairs and crisis management.

From 2005 to 2016, Ms. Duque held several different positions as Director of the Public Sector and Enterprise segments at Microsoft Colombia and Andean region, where she focused on driving customers of different sizes and segments in their adoption of cloud services and driving the company’s biggest account deals and renewals, gaining ample experience in the technology and government relations space.

In addition to her most recent work, Ms. Duque was Deputy Minister at Colombia’s Communications Ministry from 2002-2005, where she focused on redesigning the structure of the ministry and leading its main social investment projects. She also has experience working as the General Secretary and Vice President of Regulation at EPM Bogota Telecom and the Secretary General at another Colombian telecommunications firm, ETB. Ms. Duque is also an active member of several boards of directors, including the Colombian insurance company Seguros Bolivar. She also is an active member of associations such as Women In Connection and Mujeres TIC.
