Natalia Southern

Natalia Southern has extensive experience in the provision of Commonwealth and State public policy, regulatory and oversight bodies.

Natalia is an experienced senior executive and economist with more than 25 years’ experience and has extensive experience in: economic analysis and regulation; governance frameworks; regulatory design and implementation; performance monitoring and evaluation; stakeholder engagement; and report writing across a broad range of issues and sectors.

Natalia is a former Assistant Auditor General, Performance Audit at the Victorian Auditor-General’s Office. Here she oversaw more than 100 performance audits examining the efficiency and effectiveness of the Victorian public sector agencies and delivery of government policy and programs. Common areas of audit coverage included: achievement of legislative objectives, performance monitoring and reporting, effectiveness of compliance activities, assessing of regulator performance and effectiveness and efficiency of ICT projects.

Prior to FTI Consulting, Natalia was Deputy Secretary, Energy and Resources in the Victorian Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources – responsible for overseeing the earth resources policy and legislative program, and the earth resources regulator.
