About Andrew
Andrew Schlanger brings more than 25 years of experience helping public and private companies navigate complex financial and operational challenges, improve liquidity, increase profitability and maximize enterprise value. Mr. Schlanger has held senior finance and executive leadership roles across a broad range of industries and business models.
Mr. Schlanger specializes in providing hands-on leadership across cash management and reporting, performance improvement, audit remediation and lender negotiations. He has extensive experience partnering with CEOs, management teams, private equity (“PE”) sponsors, lenders and boards to address liquidity constraints, strengthen finance organizations and improve operational performance.
Throughout his career, Mr. Schlanger has led finance functions through periods of growth, distress and business transformation. His experience includes developing cash flow and liquidity management frameworks, optimizing cost structures, strengthening accounting and financial reporting processes, building finance teams and supporting capital raises, recapitalizations, acquisitions and divestitures.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Schlanger spent several years as a restructuring and turnaround consultant. As a vice president at CDG Group, now part of FTI Consulting, he worked directly with senior management and interim executives of distressed companies to design and implement financial and operational solutions tailored to specific restructuring needs. Before CDG Group, he was an associate at Alvarez & Marsal, where he focused on financial and restructuring advisory.
Relevant Experience:
- Served as interim CFO for a PE-backed industrial services company, leading initiatives to improve accounting processes, liquidity management and reporting while providing on-site leadership during a critical transition period
- Served as interim CFO for a PE-backed manufacturer and international distributor of consumer goods and wellness products, developing and implementing a global cash visibility and repatriation framework and leading companywide performance improvement initiatives
- Served as interim CFO for a PE-backed operator of multiple Mexican restaurant concepts, leading liquidity management, vendor contract renegotiations and cash flow forecasting in preparation for credit amendment negotiations
- Served as CFO of an organic food distribution company during a period of significant growth, building out the finance function, supporting multiple capital raises and enhancing transaction readiness
- Served as senior director of finance for an airport-based retailer of spa services and wellness products, leading the finance function through an acquisition by a publicly traded holding company, establishing controls to meet new reporting requirements and executing a post-close strategic plan
