Ben Mulcahy is a London-based e-discovery and data breach response expert with more than a decade of experience in complex, multijurisdictional regulatory disputes and investigations with data at the centre. Mr. Mulcahy brings deep strategic and technical acumen to advanced analytics engagements, helping global regulated organisations identify, manage and act on sensitive data at scale.

Mr. Mulcahy leverages his extensive background in complex data identification and discovery to support clients through post-data breach analysis following cybersecurity incidents. He leads engagements that require collaboration between legal counsel, data protection officers, data scientists and analytics specialists to identify and extract sensitive data in order to meet regulatory requests and breach notification requirements.

Relevant Experience:

• Served as technology lead for the largest anti-money laundering investigation in Europe at the time and led delivery on numerous high-stakes merger engagements, guiding clients through complex, multijurisdictional regulatory scrutiny
• Oversaw use of technology across numerous privacy breach engagements, with a particular emphasis on those featuring multiple jurisdictional components, leveraging advanced analytics and artificial intelligence strategies to navigate complex regulatory landscapes
• Led a large-scale data exercise which used a combination of AI and machine learning processes to ringfence documents with personally identifiable information whilst dismissing irrelevant data sets from scope
• Provided technology guidance and leadership for a multijurisdictional, multilingual international investigation which required navigating a complex data landscape, involvement of multiple regulators and substantial pressure from key internal stakeholders
