Bill Krogstad

Bill Krogstad is a Managing Director at FTI Consulting in the Retail & Consumer Products practice. Mr. Krogstad brings more than 10 years of experience advising large retail and consumer businesses, with a specialized focus on cost transformation, profit and loss (“P&L”) forecasting and organizational design.

Mr. Krogstad is an expert in navigating urgent performance improvement and complex operational challenges. He leads multithreaded teams to deliver high-impact solutions, including store portfolio rationalization, labor scheduling optimization and SKU productivity reviews.

Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Krogstad served in the Performance Improvement & Corporate Transformation practice at Alvarez & Marsal.

Relevant Experience:

• Led the development of a board financial reporting package, identified $20 million in EBITDA opportunities and implemented risk monitoring tools to secure an additional $60 million in urgent funding
• Led the development and implementation of a demand-driven store staffing program using customer traffic to dictate budgeted hours — resulting in a 5% increase in productivity
• Redesigned the global service delivery model across all core functions, more than doubling the size of a captive offshore service center to increase capabilities and cost-efficiency
• Conducted a cost optimization assessment for a 450-store retail chain, identifying $10 million in savings by aligning labor scheduling to demand, optimizing the full-time/part-time mix and enhancing leader spans of control
• Led a corporate and field reorganization for a $1 billion quick service restaurant (“QSR”) company, reducing general and administrative (“G&A”) costs by 120 bps by cutting non-core capacity, increasing management leverage and redesigning the field management structure
