About Bradley
Bradley Smith has more than 17 years of experience advising both privately held and publicly traded companies on the application of technical accounting and finance matters and Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) rules and regulations. Brad provides advisory services regarding the application of Financial Accounting Standards Board (“FASB”) pronouncements and related interpretations, SEC rules and regulations, as well as financial reporting matters, including disclosure considerations. He has experience advising clients on the accounting and disclosure for a variety of complex transactions.
Throughout his career, Brad has led many projects, including IPO readiness and execution, implementation of new accounting standards, advice on the application of technical accounting topics, assistance with SEC preclearance and comment letter processes, audit preparation and the preparation and restatement of financial statements.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Brad served as managing director of an accounting advisory firm’s IPO and technical accounting practice, where he assisted clients in the life sciences, technology and consumer products industries with technical accounting and financial reporting. Brad also was the CFO and director of human resources of an early-stage company.
Brad previously was a senior manager in EY’s financial accounting advisory services practice, advising clients on a range of technical accounting issues, SEC matters and complex transactions. He also served in EY’s professional practice group, focusing on SEC regulatory matters, where he developed firmwide technical and business development thought leadership. He also advised audit engagement teams in interpreting and applying FASB and SEC rules and regulations and helped develop firm policies with respect to SEC regulations.
Brad earned a B.S. in Management from Fairfield University and an M.B.A./M.S. in Accounting from Northeastern University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”) and a member of the North Carolina Association of CPAs.
