Cassandra Oliveira

Cassandra Oliveira concentrates on helping agricultural and food industry players define strategies, grow, diversify and manage risk. With a mix of technical and business capabilities, Ms. Oliveira facilitates cross-functional client teams to drive fact-based assessments of the current state and scenario planning for a range of potential future states, with particular focus on business feasibility.

Prior to FTI Consulting, Ms. Oliveira was a product manager at John Deere, where she assessed the customer value and business feasibility of various advanced engineering concepts, working hand-in-hand with mechanical, structural and software engineers on cutting-edge innovations.

Preceding John Deere, Ms. Oliveira worked at The Context Network, a management consulting firm serving the agri-food value chain. During this time, Ms. Oliveira acted as project manager for a range of strategic initiatives for agribusiness clients, including M&A commercial diligence and geographic expansion strategy, as well as risk mitigation of disruptive events, such as patent expirations or distribution channel consolidation. In parallel, she completed a part-time M.B.A. with Chicago Booth. Lastly, during a multiyear expat assignment, she spearheaded business development and operational activities in São Paulo to support the consultancy’s Latin American expansion efforts.

Ms. Oliveira started her career in laboratory research at Valent Biosciences, supporting early-stage screening for compounds that enable abiotic stress resistance for a variety of crops. She also provided marketing and public relations services to a range of life science companies at CG Life.

• Prioritized strategic risks of autonomy for an equipment manufacturer; informed requirements for prototype builds to maximize organizational learning and readiness
• Developed the Brazilian go-to-market strategy, logistics strategy and feasibility assessment for a novel macrobiological pest management solution
• Created an off-patent generic competition defense strategy for a multinational animal health company
• Conducted seed warehousing market analysis, growth strategy and M&A assessment for a Latin American investment firm
• Conducted competitive channel analysis and dealer development strategy for a multinational agriculture equipment company
• Managed an impact assessment of Brazilian corn trait resistance, market trends and competitive threats for a multinational trait provider
• Guided the redesign of a farmer stewardship program considering a post-merger chemical portfolio
• Assisted in M&A target evaluation and prioritization to improve the Brazilian footprint for a multinational specialty fertilizer company
