About Chelsea
Chelsea Park, Ph.D., is a Director at FTI Consulting’s Center for Healthcare Economics & Policy. Dr. Park’s work focuses on quantitative policy evaluation, market analysis and health outcomes research.
Dr. Park is an applied microeconomist with a research background in health economics and industrial organization. She has nearly a decade of experience conducting empirical research using large-scale healthcare datasets, including Medicare claims and Korea’s National Health Insurance data. Her work engages healthcare providers, payers and life sciences organizations in understanding the impact of health policies and technologies on cost, access and outcomes.
Dr. Park’s recent research includes evaluating the effects of adverse drug-event-related withdrawals on patient health and drug spending in the United States and South Korea, as well as assessing the impact of long-term care insurance subsidies on hospital use and medical expenditure. In addition to policy-focused research, she has ongoing projects examining trends in outpatient surgical care following Covid-19 and the role of public drug information platforms in shaping pharmaceutical market competition.
Before joining FTI Consulting, Dr. Park served as a research assistant for multiple interdisciplinary teams across economics and clinical research. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from Duke University and holds a M.A. and a B.A. in Economics from Yonsei University.
