About Christopher
Christopher Cavallo has significant experience in the preparation of construction claims related to critical path schedule analysis, labor productivity issues, extra work claims, delay damages, productivity damages and termination damages. Mr. Cavallo also has significant experience with the performance of project cost audits. His work includes the detailed analysis of project schedules, accounting records, construction drawings, change orders, work directives and other contemporaneous records. He has both prepared and assisted in the preparation of expert reports related to schedule delay, productivity loss and damages.
Mr. Cavallo’s experience includes providing consulting services on construction projects throughout the United States, with a concentration of projects in the Northeast. He has worked on commercial, hospitality, medical, governmental, ground up and existing renovations of low/high-rise residential, rail transit rolling stock and infrastructure, road and bridge infrastructure, chemical plants, power and energy and mining. Mr. Cavallo has represented owners, developers, construction managers, contractors and government agencies on these projects.
Prior to joining FTI Consulting, Mr. Cavallo attained significant experience in the architecture and construction industries. He began his work experience in the construction industry in 2003, working for his family’s general contracting business as a laborer and construction administrator. Upon graduation from the University of Maryland’s School of Architecture, Mr. Cavallo began work as an architectural designer in New York City. In that role, he provided architectural and building system designs for many retail stores and restaurants in high profile locations across New York City. Each design covered the full project life cycle from zoning, site survey and feasibility assessment through project management and closeout.
Mr. Cavallo’s experience in both the architecture and construction industries brings a unique understanding and perspective throughout all construction phases.
Relevant Experience:
- Provided expert report pertaining to both schedule delays and resultant damages on behalf of mechanical contractor during construction of a water treatment plant in Upstate New York
- Prepared mediation work product on behalf of a New York area school board and defended the school board in mediation against claims exceeding $5 million
- Prepared a cost audit of a $300 million luxury condo building in Los Angeles on behalf of the developer
- Provided advisory services as a neutral Independent Cost Estimator related to the evaluation of more than $400 million in damages for a major New York City bridge project
