Clara Kaplan

Clara Kaplan is a Director within FTI Technology with more than 20 years of experience in e-discovery, investigations and document review. Having worked in consultancy roles across a variety of industries, Clara brings significant expertise managing risk analysis projects, including fraud investigations, as well as implementing e-discovery tools and performing related projects. She has managed highly complex fraud projects related to corruption, data breach, bullying, sexual harassment, misappropriation and employees' self-benefits, among other issues, for national and international companies across a range of sectors.

Clara has experience leading the strategic definition and management of activities, from data collection through the review, in several investigation projects. She also leads initiatives focused on fraud measurement, guiding the appropriate collection of data, identifying modus operandi and analyzing the behavior of those involved. Additionally, she works to pinpoint vulnerabilities that enable fraudulent activities.

Beyond Clara’s investigative expertise, she supports clients by providing continuous progress updates to stakeholders and consulting firms. She takes on a leadership role in shadow investigations, collaborating with law firms, independent investigation teams and financial committees to ensure thorough and effective oversight.

Relevant Experience:

• Defined strategy and managed an investigation project related to financial transactions fraud performed on credit cards via online payment methods at technology services companies for financial and retail companies
• Led a documents review team comprised of more than 30 people during the investigation process of a public waste collection company; responsible for interacting with national and international law firms to clarify the involvement of the company’s executives in acts of corruption
• Conducted an investigation of self-benefit misconduct of an airline executive; involved irregular negotiations with business partners and suppliers, contracting and payment
